It all started with an entry level job and a duplex.
Doug Nedde wasn’t sure what path his career would take after graduating from UVM in 1985 but it quickly chose him. His first job was working for The Davis Company as property manager and general assistant to the owner of the company. He soon found himself taking on more responsibilities, overseeing acquisitions, investments, development and maintenance of the properties he managed. After working with The Davis Company for 6 years, Nedde bought his first investment property, a duplex. Larry Williams and Doug would eventually team up to start Redstone Commercial Group, one of the most successful companies of its kind in Vermont. Over the last 28 years Redstone added to its ranks, creating divisions in property management, brokerage, acquisitions and development. Under the guidance of Nedde and Williams, Redstone managed and owned over 2 million square feet of commercial space and served hundreds of clients.
Throughout his career, Nedde has been deeply tied to his local community and has a great passion for the unique characteristics of Vermont. Nedde grew up in Vermont and attended University of Vermont where he received is B.A. in Political Science and Economics. He now lives with his family in Colchester and carries this community awareness into his business practices. In addition to sitting on local boards such as the Chittenden County Humane Society, Vermont Health Insurance Co-Op and ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, he also takes every opportunity to employ local companies and people. From the art he hangs on the wall in his office to the companies and people that work on the projects he strives to keep the money and business in Vermont.
But what Nedde enjoys most about commercial real estate is the opportunity to see projects through from start to finish. He thrives on seeing positive changes take shape and works to preserve the historical rarities of Vermont, making moves to strength its economy and move it forward by staying on the cutting edge of his field. Nedde seeks out opportunities to develop areas and buildings for the better, to make them more useful for more people while employing principles of energy efficiency and sustainability. Integral to the planning phase of any project that Nedde pursues is a consideration of the ramifications on the surrounding community and meeting their needs.
Though a highly successful team, Nedde decided to separate from the Redstone name and get back to the root of his passion for commercial real estate, founding Nedde Real Estate in March of 2012. He maintains ownership of the projects he developed while at Redstone. Nedde looks forward to offering clients of Nedde Real Estate the personalized, full-service assistance that he is well known for whether they be buying, selling or leasing.
